I'm finally posting some pictures from Easter. I was trying to wait until we got the Easter bunny pictures scanned, but we haven't had a chance to do it yet. Kaitlin looked adorable in her little Easter dress and bonnet. She had to wait until after church to get her Easter basket because Keven played at all 4 services beginning at 6:30am and didn't get home until after noon. I'm pretty sure she didn't mind and she loved all of her gifts! If you look closely at the "Big Smiles" picture, you can see Kaitlin's first tooth! It's a tiny white speck just below the tip of her tongue. (If you can't see this slide show, hit refresh and it should come up.)

March 2008
I've been a bit of a slacker about updating the blog this month. Since Kaitlin is 7 months old today and has learned so many new things in the past month, I thought I would give a quick summary of her 6th month with pictures included of course! She is rolling all over the place now and is sitting up on her own. Kaitlin started eating solid foods with flavor this month (she's been eating rice cereal for a while). We started wth veggies and her favorites seem to be sweet potatoes, carrots, and green beans. This past weekend she tried her first fruit - pears, but she doesn't seem too crazy about them. You may notice some signs of teething in the pictures (mainly gnawing on her thumb) and yes, she is getting her first tooth! We felt it for the first time last Saturday and could see a tiny white cap on her gums. It seems to get a little more noticeable each day. Pop Pop introduced Kaitlin to balloons while we were visiting south Florida and Kaitlin got all excited at the grocery store the other day when she saw some. She started kicking her little legs and "talking" excitedly to the balloons. It was very cute! Well, I know you really just want to see pictures, so here they are!

Seeing Double
On Kaitlin's 6-month birthday, we took her to get her picture taken in this adorable dress that I wore as a baby. The picture on the left is me in the dress and the one on the right is Kaitlin. I think she might be a little older in this picture than I was. Of course, I was a much bigger baby (8 lbs 6 oz vs. 6 lbs 12 oz)!

We wanted to get some naked pictures of Kaitlin, but the photographer wouldn't do it (for hygiene purposes I'm sure). This is the closest we could get. We did get one where her diaper wasn't showing, but it wasn't the cutest smile.

Kaitlin is such an easy going baby that people often ask us if she ever cries. Well, she does and here's the proof!

Photo Shoot
Kaitlin is growing up so fast I just had to get pictures of her in all of her cutest outfits while she can still wear them. I'm pretty sure this post is more about me than about Kaitlin! Can you figure out which outfits were bought with her Daddy in mind? Thank you very much to everyone who sent Kaitlin such stylish duds!
Kaitlin's 6-month Checkup
Kaitlin had her 6-month checkup this afternoon. She weighed in at 14 lbs. 2 oz and is 26 ¾ inches long. We thought she would be closer to 15 pounds, but the doctor said that her growth is right on track and that she looks great! Some of Kaitlin's latest accomplishments include rolling over (both ways now) and sitting. She has also discovered her ears and everytime she hears a loud noise, she puts her hands over them. She also loves to stick out her tongue! Tonight she will eat baby food for the first time.
We also applied for Passports today. We aren't planning a trip anytime soon, but we thought it would be a good idea to have them just in case; that way we don't have to rush to get them if we do decide to travel out of the country. The pictures they take for those things are awful! Kaitlin is the only one of us who looks cute in hers :)

Happy Birthday Simba!
There seem to be a lot more pictures of Harley on the blog than of Simba (could be because Simba and I don't get along that well). So, I thought Simba deserved a little face time since it is his 11th birthday today. We caught a rare few minutes on film the other night - Simba, Kaitlin, and me together. Although Kaitlin is very interested in Simba, he's not as eager for her attention as Harley is and she doesn't get to touch him very often.

Kaitlin's first Valentine's Day
Kaitlin enjoyed her first Valentine's Day very much! She exchanged valentines with her friends at BabyGym (Parker, George Truitt, Myles, and Parrish) and got some bubbles, a stuffed animal, Cheerios, and a cookie. She can't have the Cheerios and cookie just yet, but I'm sure she will enjoy them when the time comes! She also got valentines from Mommy and Daddy, MomMom and PopPop, Grandma, and Kyler & Kohl. MomMom also sent her some Valentine's Day apparel so that she would be dressed appropriately. Here are some pictures. She also has a matching shirt that says "I love Daddy" but she spit up on it and had to change before I could get a picture.

So Sweet
Kaitlin rolled over for the first time (back to tummy) over a month ago, but has only done it a few times here and there ever since. Tonight, however, she rolled over four times on her own! I guess she was excited about the Super Bowl!
She has also really started to take an interest in the animals lately and has even "pet" Harley and Simba a few times. Harley has been very patient and gentle with her. Here is a picture of the two of them together.
